Pixel Binning

Definition:
Pixel Binning shows an entire captured image by averaging signals from adjacent pixels.
Usage:
<K542,pixel binning,AEC/AGC mode,AEC/AGC brightness>
Default:
Disabled
Options:
0 = Disabled

1 = 4:1

2 = 16:1

4-to-1

At 4:1, 4 pixel signals from 2 adjacent rows and columns are combined so that only 1 pixel is output for every 4 pixels sampled. An image with the dimensions 640 x 480 is scaled to 320 x 240.

Since the resolution of the output image is reduced, the frame rate will increase, but not by the factor of the image reduction. This is due to the overhead time of digital pixel data processing and minimum row time requirements of the image sensor.
